The Initiatives for Relief and Development, in partnership with the Jesus Center of Good News community and other partners, through health mutual "AFYA BORA," would like to offer the population of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and particularly the provinces of South Kivu and North Kivu, accessible medical care services, including routine and outpatient care, hospitalization, and other specialized healthcare services, notably surgery, optics, dental care, gynecology, pediatrics, etc. The AFYA BORA medical mutual of the Jesus Center of Good News community will cover common diseases in the Democratic Republic of Congo (malaria, typhoid fever, diabetes, Hepatitis A, B & C, sexually transmitted infections and HIV/AIDS, waterborne diseases, those caused by poor hand hygiene, etc.). In the event of death, upon presentation of the relevant documents, including the death certificate (hospital doctor), death declaration (neighborhood chief), death record (mayor of the commune of residence of the deceased), and burial authorization (mayor of the commune of residence of the deceased), the AFYA BORA will also provide funeral expense services to the registered members.
