Today’s world faces numerous crises, including political and economic instability, food insecurity, natural disasters, climate change, conflicts, and social inequalities. These hardships are causing people to leave their homes to become internally displaced families, refugees, or migrants, seeking safety and well-being both within and outside their countries. For those who stay, poverty and limited access to essential services and economic opportunities are ongoing challenges.
In response, concerned individuals in the United States joined forces on September 29, 2024, to formally create the non-profit organization Initiatives for Relief and Development (IRD). Our mission is to improve the living conditions of those affected and protect their rights.
IRD is committed to housing low-income people, providing social and community services in central Massachusetts, providing humanitarian assistance to people impacted by conflicts and natural disasters, and supporting impoverished communities in their journey toward positive transformation.
